MAY 2024 NEWSLETTER

SCHOOL NEWSLETTER & MONTHLY ACTIVITIES

Each month, you'll receive our monthly newsletter via email. Please ensure to thoroughly review all materials sent home from the preschool to stay informed about important matters. Additionally, we urge you to regularly check your email for updates on classroom events, requirements, and other significant details. We are committed to keeping you informed about your child's activities throughout the day via the Brightwheel App, using the email address provided during enrollment.

Feel free to reach out to us anytime with questions or concerns at irma@anewdaycdc.com. Please note that emails and messages on the Brightwheel app are not monitored outside of program hours or during weekends. We kindly request that you refrain from contacting our teachers late in the evening or before school hours.

MAY TUTION

Payment for tuition/fees is exclusively accepted through our tuition software, and it will appear as a draft from your bank by Lincoln Savings Bank.

A late fee of $50.00 per month will be imposed on the 6th. If tuition remains unpaid for two consecutive weeks, the child may be withdrawn, and the spot will promptly be filled with a family from the waitlist.

Absences cannot be compensated by attending on an alternative day.

Invoices will be sent to the parent/guardian’s email on record. A New Day CDC prioritizes environmental sustainability and, therefore, issues receipts via email to the individual financially responsible each month during the tuition processing. These receipts contain all necessary information for taxes, HSA, and FSA purposes.

Tuition may be adjusted when necessary, with a complete 30-day written notice to the administration office of A New Day CDC from the parents. Kindly direct written emails to irma@anewdaycdc.com.

In instances where circumstances or hardships make it challenging to pay tuition, please reach out to Irma to arrange a payment schedule and sign a payment agreement. No refunds or prorates are issued for absences, adverse weather days, vacations, teacher in-service days, holidays, or any day the school is closed due to unforeseen circumstances, including closures initiated by state officials, CDC, or administration.

Date: May 17, 2024

Time: 12:00-2:30 pm

Place: High Five Entertainment located at 1502 Ranch Rd 620 In Lakeway

A New Day CDC is happy to announce that we will be holding a small Graduation Ceremony for our 2024 Graduating Pre-K students who will be attending Kindergarten this fall.

Parents are invited to attend their child’s Preschool Graduation Ceremony on Friday, May 17th at 12:00 noon at High Five Entertainment.

A New Day CDC will provide food and drinks for this event! As our gift to our Graduates each child will receive: One hour of bowling, One 15 Minute Laser Tag Mission and a Player’s Card with 40 Points as their graduation gift.

Please be sure to order your child’s Cap & Gown for the Graduation Ceremony!

PRE-K CLASSROOM NEWS

Mrs. Anoush will begin her maternity leave on May 18th, 2024. We anticipate her return to school in early 2025. Please extend your well wishes to her!

We are excited to welcome Mrs. Kalpana as an additional Lead Pre-K Teacher to our program.

Parent Reminders!

Please ensure your child has an extra set of clothes suitable for the summer weather.

For safety, please refrain from including glass containers in your child's lunch box.

ATTENDANCE USING THE BRIGHT WHEEL APP

According to state licensing requirements, parents are required to sign their child in and out each day. Please remember to utilize the Brightwheel app for this purpose, and you can find the scan code posted on the front door. Should you require assistance accessing your sign-in/out code, please don't hesitate to reach out to our staff.

ARRIVALS

Please recognize the importance of regular attendance for your child to maintain consistency and order. Children should arrive before the educational portion of the program begins at 8:45 am to minimize classroom disruptions and establish a consistent routine preparing them for kindergarten.

Prompt arrival ensures full participation in classroom lessons and other learning experiences. Missing these lessons deprives children of valuable learning opportunities and disrupts both students and teachers already engaged in the day's activities.

BRIGHTWHEEL APP AUTHORIZED PICK-UP

If someone other than the parent is designated to pick up your child, they must be listed on the Brightwheel App. Any adult picking up a child must present valid identification. Children will not be released to unauthorized individuals, those under 18, anyone suspected of being intoxicated, or suspected of substance abuse.

In such instances or if no one arrives for the child, A New Day CDC staff will attempt to notify:

• Parent/guardian

• Emergency contacts

• Other authorized individuals for pickup

If staff are unable to reach any of these contacts and the child remains at the center for more than 30 minutes after closing, it will be considered abandonment. The Travis County Sheriff and Child Protection Agencies will then be notified.

MARKING YOUR CHILD ABSENT ON THE BRIGHTWHEEL APP

On the occasion that your child may be absent from school due to an illness or otherwise, please mark them absent and send us a message on the Brightwheel app no later than 8:00 a.m.

STUDENT DROP OFF CUT-OFF TIME

Parents are asked not to bring children in after 8:45 a.m. except in the event of a doctor’s appointment, an emergency, or a special family occasion. Please send a message on the BW app for approval.

EXTENDED SUMMER VACATIONS

We understand that summer is a time when families want to spend time together or save on childcare costs. Quality childcare can be hard to find, so it's crucial to ensure your child's place at our preschool is secured during your summer plans.

Please consider that any vacation time taken is a significant loss of income for the school. We must continue to cover all operational expenses, including employee’s salaries.

At A New Day CDC, enrollment operates on a first-come, first-served basis. If parents choose to withdraw their child for the summer, they will be contacted as spaces fill up in each class. These families will have priority to fill the openings. If they decline, their child will be re-enrolled when a spot becomes available.

 VACATION POLICY

Please understand that no refunds will be provided for vacations, illnesses, absences, or holidays, as the school must cover all operational expenses. Tuition remains due in full during vacation periods. If your child will be on vacation for an extended period, please provide at least four weeks' notice.

2024 REMAINING HOLIDAY SCHEDULE

Ensuring your child's well-being depends on our staff maintaining good physical and emotional health. As our school strictly adheres to a thoughtfully planned budget to promptly fulfill financial commitments, upcoming holidays and school closures will be observed as paid holidays. Specific dates will be communicated in advance through posted memos. If a holiday falls on a weekend, the corresponding day off will be observed on either Friday or Monday. Despite fixed costs spread over the calendar year, please be aware that there will be NO reduction in tuition for these scheduled breaks. We recommend keeping a copy of the calendar below for reference, enabling your family to plan accordingly.
