APRIL’S MONTHLY TUITION

Payment for tuition/fees is exclusively accepted through our tuition software, and it will appear as a draft from your bank by Lincoln Savings Bank.

A late fee of $50.00 per month will be imposed on the 6th. If tuition remains unpaid for two consecutive weeks, the child may be withdrawn, and the spot will promptly be filled with a family from the waitlist.

Absences cannot be compensated by attending on an alternative day.

Invoices will be sent to the parent/guardian’s email on record. A New Day CDC prioritizes environmental sustainability and, therefore, issues receipts via email to the individual financially responsible each month during the tuition processing. These receipts contain all necessary information for taxes, HSA, and FSA purposes.

Tuition may be adjusted when necessary, with a complete 30-day written notice to the administration office of A New Day CDC from the parents. Kindly direct written emails to irma@anewdaycdc.com.

In instances where circumstances or hardships make it challenging to pay tuition, please reach out to Irma to arrange a payment schedule and sign a payment agreement. No refunds or prorates are issued for absences, adverse weather days, vacations, teacher in-service days, holidays, or any day the school is closed due to unforeseen circumstances, including closures initiated by state officials, CDC, or administration.

TODDLER ROOM TEACHERS

It is with regret that we have to announce Ms. Jimena our Toddler Room teacher will be departing from our team this week. She has accepted a position closer to her home in order to reduce her commuting time.

Mrs. Arthi Panneerselvam & Ms. Lina Garcia will be taking over the Toddler room as Co-teachers. Both ladies have years of experience in Early Childhood Education and we are so happy to welcome them to our team

Parents are kindly requested to provide their child with a fresh bottle of sunscreen and insect repellent for the warmer months.

As these products have expiration dates, we request that sunscreen containers be labeled with your child's name and the date it was brought to school.

Parents are required to apply sunscreen to their children before they arrive at school each morning as this process can take some time.

Teachers will reapply sunscreen before the afternoon outdoor playtime.

2024 SOLAR ECLIPSE

Due to the majority of student absences and the expected increase in traffic in our area, A NEW DAY CHILD DEVELOPMENT CENTER will remain closed on Monday, April 8th, due to the solar eclipse. A New Day CDC adheres to LTISD protocols for school closures in cases of inclement weather or other emergencies/situations.

The eclipse will be visible throughout the Hill Country from 1:32 pm - 1:41 pm CST on April 8, 2024. Austin locals and visitors will experience about 1 minute and 46 seconds of the total solar eclipse at 1:36 pm CST. Is Austin in the path of totality 2024

ARRIVALS & ATTENDANCE

All parents are required to scan their child in and out each day using the BW scan code on the front of the door.

For us to fully prepare your child for preschool we ask that all children arrive at A New Day CDC before 8:30 a.m. Our educational portion of the school readiness program begins promptly at this time each morning.  Children who arrive late miss these important lessons and are deprived of this time and routine. In addition, when children enter the classroom after this time, it is disruptive to students and teachers who are already engaged in the day’s lessons.

ANY CHILD WHO IS NOT HERE BY 8:450 AM WILL BE CONSIDERED ABSENT FOR THE DAY.

CLOTHING & PERSONAL ITEMS

Please be sure to send your child a coat or jacket on colder days. Children go outside daily weather permitting.

Due to the risk to the child, childcare licensing prohibits the use of students wearing any teething necklaces or using pacifiers with anything tethered to them (clip, stuffed animal etc.)

A New Day CDC also prohibits the use of any other jewelry to be worn at school.  Examples include necklaces, bracelets, snap bracelets etc.

Children should never bring personal toys to the school. Items brought from home can easily be damaged or lost and can also create unnecessary distractions within the classroom.  A New Day CDC is not responsible for any item children bring to school.

All other personal belongings such as backpacks, lunchboxes, jackets, glasses, and sunscreen must be labeled with your child’s first and last name or initials. Please check with the front office if any of these items go missing. If your child happens to go home with a clothing item that does not belong to them, please be sure to return it to the school ASAP.

PLEASE BE SURE TO LABEL ALL YOUR CHILD’S BELONGINGS!

The responsibility for dress and clothing rests with the parent(s)/guardian(s). The following list outlines some suggestions that will apply specifically to preschoolers:

  • Provide clothing that is loose and has simple fasteners.

  • All removable clothing should be labeled with your child’s name.

  • Expect your child to get messy as “playing” with many different things are all part of development.

  • Please be sure to dress your child appropriately in clothing suitable for play. There may be times when our play gets messy or dirty. We try our best to keep clothing clean, but accidents do happen, so please save the dressy clothing for home and special occasions.

SHOE LACES

Please understand that Preschool is a busy and exciting time for our teachers and students throughout the day.

The children learn many things but the most important is safety.   If your child is at the age that they are old enough to learn, please teach them to tie their own shoes.  If they are too young, we ask that you send your child with Velcro or slip on tennis shoes.  This will keep them safe and will also help everyone stay healthy.

PLEASE: No open-toed shoes, no dress shoes, no flip-flops, no cowboy or cowgirl boots, no sandals, or crocs.

IMMUNIZATIONS

TO HELP US STAY IN COMPLIANCE PLEASE BE SURE TO SEND IN AN UPDATED COPY OF ANY IMMUNIZATIONS THAT YOUR CHILD MAY RECEIVE AFTER THEY HAVE BEEN ENROLLED.

All children must meet applicable immunization requirements specified by the Texas Department of Health. The State requires that all records must be on file with A New Day Child Development Center within one week after the date of admission and must be signed by a healthcare professional who has examined the child within the past year. If these forms are not submitted within one week of starting school, your child may not return until forms are submitted. Please be sure to upload your child’s Immunization Record on their Brightwheel Profile.

HEARING & VISION SCREENING:

The State requires that all children 4 years and older complete a vision and hearing screening, showing numeric results. This information must be submitted to A NEW DAY CDC to be kept in your child’s file. If these forms are not submitted within one week of starting school, your child may not return until forms are submitted. If your child turns 4 during the school year, you must complete this screening and hand in the report within one week of his/her birthday.

If your doctor or you prefer to delay or forgo particular immunizations, you must submit an original signed and notarized affidavit stating the vaccination and details. This will be kept in your child’s file.

YOUR CHILD’S PROFILE ON THE BRIGHTWHEEL APP

Please be sure to add all additional information required about your child on the BW App Profile such as Address, Immunization Records, Birthdays, Doctors, and Emergency contacts, Family members who are allowed to pick up your child.

PLEASE also be sure you TURN ON notifications so that you will be able to receive all important messages sent by the school!

This will be our only form of communicating with parents so please be sure to let us know if you are having any problems with the app.

CHECKING IN/OUT

All parents are required to check your child in and out each day by scanning the Brightwheel App Scan Code on the front door. This will allow you to receive all photos and messages from your child’s teacher throughout the day.

NUTRITION & MEALS POLICY

Each child will need to bring his/her breakfast, lunch along with an afternoon snack each day packed inside an individual lunchbox.

Microwaves are available; however, we request that you avoid sending items that need to be warmed for more than just a few minutes and NO GLASS CONTAINERS. No frozen meals, ravioli or macaroni (Mac & Cheese must be cooked at home) which in turn takes a significant time away from the children. Our goal is for teachers to be sitting with the children during all meals, assisting as necessary and providing a positive, warm experience with conversation and social skills being practiced and developed.

All lunch boxes that have milk or dairy products are placed in the refrigerator in the mornings to ensure cold items stay cold.  They are placed on a shelf for afternoon snack.

Please DO NOT send cold items for afternoon snacks.

When packing your child’s lunch, please remember these considerations:

  • Age appropriateness of food item and amount of food,

  • Color of food (color makes the meal attractive and provides a great learning experience)

  • How is the food packed; containers need to be appropriate for the child to experience success in taking off the lids and opening any baggies. NO GLASS CONTAINERS FOR SAFETY REASONS.

  • Does it need to be warmed and for how long? Pack food that needs to be warmed separately from cold food items.

  • Choking hazard? Fruit: SLICED Grapes, Bananas, Strawberries, PEELED Oranges/Apples cut in Wedges, Peeled Kiwi, Peeled Peaches, and Peeled Mangos, Protein bars, Apple Sauce, Raisins, Cranberries, Apricots, Prunes (or other dried fruit)·

  • Please DO NOT send soda pop, popcorn, candy (or any item with greater than 13 grams of sugar)

  • Snacks such as sweets, soft drinks, potato chips, candy, cakes, cookies and fruit juices with less than 100% real fruit juice are not considered to have any nutritional value.

  • Consider freezing yogurt tubes and inserting them into your child’s lunch bag.  The frozen tube will serve as an ice pack and keep food cold!

BREAKFAST CUTOFF TIME IS 8:00 AM.

Children may bring breakfast to school IF THEY ARRIVE BEFORE 8:00 am.  Any child who arrives to school after 8:00 am should have already eaten breakfast at home. Teachers are preparing for the morning curriculum and cannot continue to feed children after this time.

2024 HOLIDAY & TIME OFF SCHEDULE

To ensure the optimal well-being of your child, it is imperative that our staff maintains good physical and emotional health. As our school adheres to a carefully planned budget to fulfill its financial commitments promptly, the following holidays and school closures will be observed as paid holidays. We will provide advance notice through posted memos regarding the specific days these holidays will occur. In instances where one of these holidays falls on a weekend, the corresponding day off will be observed on either Friday or Monday. Despite the fixed costs averaged over the calendar year, please note that there will be NO reduction in tuition for these scheduled breaks. We encourage you to retain a copy of the calendar below for reference, allowing your family to plan accordingly.
